Grace Stockwood, age 89 of Murphy, NC passed away Monday, December 2, 2024.
She was born in Paterson, NJ to the late William and Trina Deboer Nye. Grace loved to sew, knit, crochet, flower gardening and skiing. She also loved spending time with her family. Grace was a member of Ranger Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, William and John Nye; and one sister, Jean Leigh.
She is survived by one son, Calvin Pickersgill, Jr of Morristown, VT; two daughters, Debbie Szwyd (John) of Murphy, NC and Bethann Sagesse (Chad) of Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, December 6, 2024 at the Ranger Baptist Church. Rev. Derrick Palmer will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Szwyd, Jamey Szwyd, Chad Saggese, Tom Pickersgill and George Wendt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon, 3806 Monument Ave., Richmond, VA 23230.
