Jerry Hartness, 79, of Murphy passed away Friday, March 7, 2025. He was the son of the late Robert and Eva Panther Hartness. Jerry had worked as an equipment operator in construction. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and working with his son. Jerry was a member of the New Martins Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Willard Hartness and Johnny Hartness; sisters, Pauline Hartness, Bobby Hartness, and Rita Mae Hartness.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Coleman Hartness; a son, Charles Hartness (Elizabeth); and a sister, Lois Taylor.
Services will be held at a later date at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Murphy Chapel.
