Obituary for James Arthur Quistorff

James Arthur Quistorff, age 76 passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at the Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA.

James was the son of the late Fred Mensing Quistorff and Jean Letitia Quistorff. James was born in Seattle, Washington on November 3, 1944. He grew up in various parts of the Northwest, graduating from Bainbridge High School in 1962 on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He became a pilot following a brief time of education in community college. This became his vocation for over 30 years. He lived life to the fullest and had an adventurous spirit filled with spontaneity. His love of flying and adventure took him to the Middle East, Europe, and various places around the world. He delighted in spending time with his wife, Gail, eight kids, and fifteen grandkids. James loved Jesus and was devout to his Catholic faith. He loved deeply, laughed wholeheartedly, and welcomed all to his home. For the past seven years, they've lived in the beautiful hills of the Blue Ridge mountains at a slower and quieter pace. He will be loved and missed by all.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother Lawrence, "Larry" Fredrick Quistorff.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Radford Quistorff; three sons, James Arthur Quistorff, Jr. and wife Audrey, of Erie, CO, Daniel Lawrence Quistorff and fiance Chanelle of Auckland, New Zealand and Gabriel Jonathan Quistorff and Wife Elizabeth of Birmingham, AL; four daughters, Patricia Jean Paine and husband Joel Paine of Fruita, CO, Stephanie Ruth Gonzales and husband Eddie, of Castle Rock, CO, Sarah Ann Quistorff of Shoreline, WA, Michelle Lee Buckingham and husband Garett of Kirkland, WA and Cassidy Lee Cianciolo and husband Tommy of Klamath Falls, OR; one sister, Carla Jean Pfaff of Lewiston, ID and 15 grandchildren, Payton, Solana, Jesse, Miles, Jack, Samuel, Kyra, Savannah, William, Trudy, Judson, Murielle, Katherine, Gloria, and Phoenix.

A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, September 28th at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Andrews, North Carolina and will be officiated by Father George Byers. Burial will be at Unaka Cemetery at 12pm on Saturday, October 2, 2021.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Santa Rita Abbey, Sonoita, AZ 85637.
