Richard Eugene Fields, age 51 of Hayesville, NC passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021.
He was born in Gaston County, NC and was the son of Christine Matheson Fields of Young Harris, GA and the late Leonard Fields. Richard enjoyed fishing, gardening, cutting grass and the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family. Richard was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Towns County, GA.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Fields; one daughter, Keshia Fields of Hayesville; two brothers, Ronnie Fields (Vickie) of Young Harris, GA and Randy Fields (Lisa) of Mineral Bluff, GA.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Hayesville. Rev. Andrew Brown and Rev. Denny Moss will officiate. Burial will be in the Bethabara Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leonard James Fields, Zack White, Randy Fields, Marty Ledford, Dale Anderson and Fletcher Bradley. Honorary pallbearers will be the Clay County Transportation.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2 pm, Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
The family respectively ask that masks be worn to the visitation and services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethabara Cemetery Fund, 1470 Bethabara Road, Hayesville, NC 28904.
