Madlyn Wallace, age 92 of Chattanooga, TN and formerly of Murphy, NC passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023.
She was born in Cherokee County, NC to the late Bass and Hattie Martin Taylor. Madlyn worked as an inspector for E.I. DuPont DE/Nemours & Company. She enjoyed cooking for other people and also checking on church members who were not well. Madlyn was a charter member of the Scott Memorial Church of God in Chattanooga, TN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, three brothers, Alvin Taylor, Howard Taylor (Rachel) and Leon Taylor (Frieda); three sisters, Margie Taylor, Janet Lance and Sandra Dockery; three brother in laws, Bill Trotter, Dave Alverson and Kermit Graves.
She is survived by one brother, Bascomb B. Taylor Junior (Shelby); sisters, Claudia Trotter, Lynnetta Iles (Jimmy), Jodi Alverson, Becky Graves and Kathryn Rogers (Charles); one brother in law, Loren Dockery; one sister in law, Alma Taylor and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. A eulogy will be given by Jerry Kennedy. Music will be provided by Shalain Rogers and Teresa Ricks. Burial will be in the Ogreeta Cemetery. Pallbearers will be DJ Alverson, Preston Graves, Cleaston Dockery, Michael Taylor and Nathan Iles.
The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 2 pm, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
