James "Bud" Richard Jones, age 86 of Andrews, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
Bud was born in Andrews to the late Gordon Hampton Jones and Blanche Adams Jones. He worked as a carpenter. Bud was a fisherman; he loved hunting and lizard hunting. Bud enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughters, Nichole Jones and April Brianna Darcy; his sisters, Frances Bevins and Mary Ann Mull; a great granddaughter, Leah Marie Brown; and a great grandson, Korbin Smith.
He is survived by his sons, Tony Jones (Dena McCoy), James "Jim" Jones (Laura Wilson) and Barry Jones (Janette Davis), all of Andrews; his daughters, Maxine Pace of Andrews, Melinda Pace (Marvin) of Murphy and Christa Darcy (Brian) of Andrews; his sisters, Louise Wilson of Marble and Betty Sue Hardin of Hayesville; his 11 grandchildren; and his 28 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Marble with Rev. Randal Moss officiating. Burial will be in Valleytown Cemetery in Andrews. Pallbearers will be Eric Pace, Ryan Jones, Trent Jones, Jeff Fowler, David Jones and Jamie Smith.
The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the church prior to the service.
