Louise Laney McDonald, age 82 of Murphy, passed away on her birthday, Tuesday, September 24, 2024 surrounded by family at her home.
She was a native of Cherokee County, NC. Louise was an employee of Burger King for 33 years before her retirement. She enjoyed going to church and listening to gospel music. Louise enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gid and Neily Mctaggart Laney; her late husband of 63 years, Harry McDonald; her two brothers, Jimmy Laney and Billy Laney; and her two sisters, Marie Davis and Barbara Kephart.
Surviving are two sons, Rick McDonald (Michelle) and Brian McDonald (Sharon); two grandsons, Blake McDonald and Brett McDonald (Amber), one brother, Wayne Amos; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special friend, Lindsey Stalcup and also a special friend and neighbor, Eddie Arrowood.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Rev. Bobby Lovingood, Rev. Aud Brown and Pastor Harold Stiles will officiate. Burial will be in Little Brasstown Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Phillip Davis, Tripp Beaver, Dusty Lingerfelt, Mark Gerbino, Mike Kephart and Mark Roberson. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Amos, Eddie Arrowood, Lee Conrad and Jeff Roberson.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
