Obituary for Rev. Billy Stiles

Rev. Billy Stiles, age 83 of Murphy, NC passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late William Dillard and Eula Bell Burch Stiles. Billy pastored many churches in the tri-state area including Georgia. He retired from Old Brasstown Baptist Church after 23 years. Billy was a dairy farmer. He served as chief for the Martins Creek Volunteer Fire Department for 46 years. Billy enjoyed restoring antique tractors and cars. He was a member of Little Glade Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Gene; infant sister, Janice and one brother, Jimmy Stiles.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Carder Stiles; two sons, Randy Stiles (Debby) of Murphy and Johnny Stiles (Sharon) of Virginia; one daughter, Jennifer Fitzgerald of Lavonia, GA; five grandchildren, Adam Stiles (Amanda), Nathan Stiles (Jennifer), Luke Stiles, Allison Fields (Wesley) and Mandy Newton (Ben); and 10 great grandchildren, Delaney, Graysen, Kennedy, Hurston, Aydalyn, Kinsley, Paisley, Allie, Levi and Natalie.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm - 8 pm, Sunday, November 24, 2024 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Old Martins Creek Cemetery Fund, 2299 Martins Creek Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
