Obituary for Harley Beavers

Harley Beavers, age 91 of Murphy, NC passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late Herman and Sara Jane Sneed Beavers. Harley retired from Levi Strauss with 32 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, wood working and helping his wife Ruth with quilting. Harley made sure that all his nieces and nephews attended church. He was a member of Old Fashioned Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Hasten, John, Clinton, Horace and Wilford Beavers; and four sisters, Robin Beavers, Wayne Beavers, Radie Morgan and Linnie Mae Tanner.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Pastor Hoyt Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Bellview Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny, Chris, Randy, Zack and Thomas Beavers and Harold Anderson.

The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 2 pm, Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bellview Community Cemetery, 155 Glenn Stalcup Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
