Loy Allison, age 85, of Hayesville, NC passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at his residence.
He was born in Towns County, GA to the late William Alonzo Allison and Nole Solesbee Allison, but lived his life in Clay County, NC. Loy was retired from the NC Department of Transportation and was also a crops and cattle farmer. He enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. Loy was of the baptist faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Birdell Allison and three infant daughters.
He is survived by two sons, James Allison of Hayesville and Harold Allison of Young Harris, GA; one daughter, Debra Hunnicutt and husband Ricky of Tignall, GA; one sister, Orene Allison; and four grandchildren, Shelly Ramirez and husband David, Stephanie Biddle, Travis Hunnicutt and wife Lauren and Lindsey Allison Waldroup; 12 great-grandchildren, Kai, Lilly and Cole Ramirez, Keaton Dodd and wife Tiffany, Kaden and Raelyn Biddle and Thomas, Evan, Brooke, Noah, Ella, and Adalynn Hunnicutt; and one great-great grandson, Easton Dodd.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Travis Hunnicutt will officiate. Music will be provided by Judy Rogers and Group. Burial will be in the Moss Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Cheeks, Lloyd Babe Lands, Donald Lingerfelt, Steve Allison, David McClure and Robert Duvall.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm, Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
