Zelda Genell Kepart Decker, age 91 of Murphy, NC passed away Saturday, September 19, 2026.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie Mae White Kephart. In 1977, she and Wade started Decker Flea Market. Zelda retired from Levi Strauss. She was the first female mechanic for Levi's. Zelda enjoyed playing game machines and she laced weather wallets.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Decker and siblings, Edna Lovingood, William, Ray, Clinton, Lowen and Eugene Kephart.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 12 pm, Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Dr. Eddis Dockery will officiate. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Travis and Chad Decker, Dale and Joshua Holloway, and Marcus and Harvey Kephart.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm, Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
