Obituary for Tucker Ray Knight

Tucker Ray Knight passed away September 4, 2019 at Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, NC after complications from congestive heart failure.

Mr. Knight was born March 21, 1935 in Brunswick GA. Tucker Ray lived in Hayesville, NC after moving to the mountains in 1975.

Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Swain Knight, of Blairsville, GA and his parents, Tucker Lee and Lois Irene Knight of Brunswick, GA. Mr. Knight also had a daughter, Wanda Kay of Brunswick, that also preceded him in death.

Mr. Knight is survived by a brother, Thomas Emory Knight of Brunswick, GA and a sister, Dorothy Davis of Dublin, GA. Mr. Knight is also survived by Eve Cox of Hayesville, NC, his special friend and companion to the end. Ray also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Knight was a retired welder and fabricator and had owned his own business and worked in Hiawassee, Blairsville, and Hayesville in the years he lived here in the mountains. Tucker Ray loved his work and was a very talented welder and fabricator and master of his trade. He also loved playing his guitar and banjo while also entertaining folks with his tales and escapades.

The graveside interment services at Choestoe Baptist Church, Blairsville, GA will be private.
