Obituary for Hazel Lee Hodge

Hazel Hodge, age 91 of Andrews, NC passed away Monday, April 5, 2021.

Hazel was born in Swain County, NC to the late Harley and Arizona Styles Stiles. She worked at District Memorial Hospital, Lee's & Owenby Manufacturing. Hazel also had owned and operated Hodge Florist. She enjoyed making quilts, knitting, visiting, cooking chicken and dumplings and also banana pudding. Hazel was a lifetime member of McClelland Baptist Church.

Hazel's family circle is complete now. Her parents, brothers: Jessie, Charles, Coburn and Eugene and sisters: Betty and Lois have had a glorious reunion around her precious Lord and with the love of her life, Harold "Bill" Hodge.

Hazel is survived by one son, Ken Wiggins and wife Debra; a "special son", Philip Hodge and wife Carolyn; granddaughters, Holly Wiggins, Crystal Chapman (Greg); step granddaughters, Towana Birchfield and Billie Brown; great grandchildren, Kaleb, Kaleigh, Slade, Demetre, Norman, Kadie, Trenton, Bradley and Charlotte; nieces and nephews: Belinda, Evan, Emogene, Lou Ann, Gayle and Mike; her friend she loved like a sister, Ann Taylor.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm, Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. Rev. Steve West and Rev. Shawn Clark will officiate. Music will be provided by Icie Mae and McClelland Cove Baptist Church choir. Burial will be in the Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Phillip and Mike Hodge, Roger Stanley, Tony Hall and Robert and Steve Truett. Honorary pallbearers will be Brody Holloway and Bobby Grindstaff.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm, Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews, NC.
