Obituary for Emma Kate Ware

Emma Kate Shields Ware, age 91 of Murphy, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

Emma was born in Cherokee County to the late Otis and Jessie Jenkins Shields. She had worked as a sewing machine operator in the textile industry. Emma loved her family and enjoyed people. She had been a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church since 1948.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Ware; her brothers, Hadley Shields, Ellard Shields and JD Shields; one son in law, Ricky Carter; and one brother-in-law, Glenn Ware.

She is survived by her son, Steve Ware (Wanda); her daughters, Betty Sue Loudermilk (Ned "Tater) and Brenda Carter; her brother Calvin Shields (Wanda); her grandchildren, Brent Carter, Ray Loudermilk, Andy Ware and Keith Ware; her great grandchildren, Kacey Carter, Kevin Carter, Brody Loudermilk, Kaden Ware, Josey Ware, Carson Ware, Emery Ware and Felicia Alexander; a special niece, Linda Hembree and one brother-in-law, Max Ware (Pauline).

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy. Pastor Steve Ware, Pastor Brent Carter, Joe Long and Kaden Ware will officiate. Music will be conducted by her grandchildren and Owen Beavers. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Loudermilk, Andy Ware, Kevin Carter, Kacey Carter, Brody Loudermilk and Keith Ware. Honorary pallbearers will be Carson Ware, Emery Ware, James Shope, Hunter Shope, Jake Johnson and Zack Blalock.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy.
