Rethel "Deke" Ann Gladson Rogers, age 72 of Murphy, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024.
Deke was born in Cherokee County to the late Carl Gladson and Ruby White Gladson. She worked as a veterinarian assistant. Deke loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her world. Deke enjoyed reading her bible daily and her dog, Java.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Rogers; a brother, Johnny Gladson; and her brother-in-law, Cecil Allen.
She is survived by her daughters, Mikisha Gallman (Matt) and Kim Garland (Darren); her brother, Jimmy Gladson (Dian); her sisters, Evelyn Allen and Jean Lefevers (Lawson); and her grandchildren, Dalton Campbell and Lacy Gallman.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Brother Darren Garland officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt Gallman, Dalton Campbell, Darrell Allen, Danny Allen, Matthew Allen and Chris Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Allen and Caleb Allen.
The family will receive friends from 12pm to 1pm on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
