James "Jamie" Rhodes, age 52 of Murphy, NC passed away Friday, February 28, 2025.
He was born in Hiawassee, GA to Tony Rhodes of Murphy and Mary Green of Murphy. Jamie enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and detailing cars. He took considerable pride in his lawn care to make his lawn always appear immaculate. Jamie enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed pulling pranks and joking around with others. Jamie was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Mingus Rhodes; one daughter, Bridget Cook (Ryan) of Murphy; two brothers, Billy Rhodes (Tammy) and Jackie Rhodes (Mandy) all of Murphy; two sisters, Tracy Robinson (David) and Kala Rhodes all of Murphy; mother-in-law, Ann Mingus of Murphy; sister-in-law, Rhonda Armstrong (Steve); brother-in-law, Jason Mingus; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, March 3, 2025 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Dr. Eddis Dockery and Rev. Steve Armstrong will officiate. Music will be provided by Adam Dockery. Burial will be in the Hiwassee Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Gooch, Scott Helton, Jerran Johnson, Mason Ledford, Stone Chauncy, Kyle Luke, Derik Messer and Jason Mingus.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm, Monday, March 3, 2025 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
