Homer Albert Shaffer, Sr., age 90 of Murphy, NC passed away Monday, March 17, 2025.
He was born in Quintman, GA to the late James and Janie Lewis Shaffer. Homer served in the Army National Guard. While living in Florida, Homer owned Coastal Termite. When he and Doris moved to Murphy he opened Central Termite Pest Control. Homer loved playing music. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kim Tarantino; one brother, James Shaffer; and three sisters, Martha Hewlett, Mackie Fisher and Elizabeth Cline.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Doris Ann Shaffer; two sons, Al Shaffer (Lorraine) and Bill Shaffer (Pam) all of Murphy; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
