Ruth Marie Harris age 95 of Norcross, Georgia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday April 26, 2025. She was born on October 19,1929 in Cherokee County to the late Sherron Jones and Sophie Holbrooks Jones. She graduated from Hiwassee Dam High School. She retired from Equifax Corporation in Atlanta, She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and aunt who was loved by all. She was known for her delicious home cooking, fudge and sense of humor. She loved to help others. She was a member of Swanson Baptist Church and previously Sunrise Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aundis Harris, daughter, Cheryl Hamby Boyd, brothers, Quenton and Johnnie Ray Jones and sister Sue Truwhitt.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Jerkins (Jeff) and Karen Crowder (Laughton), granddaughters, Robin McGaha (Michael), Amy Crowder, Jill McCall (Allen) and Laura Schleier (Mark) nieces, Pam Lovinggood, Kim McMillan and Shawna Daily and a host of other loved ones and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Swanson Baptist Church on Saturday, May 3 at 1 pm with Pastor Freddie Maney and Pastor Carroll Weaver officiating. Music will be by Tammy and Andy Ware. Burial will follow in the new cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ivan Crowder, Jeff Jerkins, Dwight Lovingood, Jacob Palmer, Zach Palmer, and Ted Stiles.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Swanson Baptist Church, 1360 Hedden Stiles Rd., Murphy, NC 28906.
