Obituary for Wylene Christian Kesler

Wylene Christian Kesler, age 90 of Murphy, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Wylene was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Julian and Eula Christian. She was originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Wylene loved to cook, bake, make jam and was a great seamstress. She also loved gardening and canning, especially loved her flowers. Wylene also loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of Ranger Baptist Church in Murphy. Wylene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Val Tarleton.

Wylene is survived by her husband, Alfred Kesler; her son, Bob Kesler (Diane) of Ducktown, TN; her daughter, Evelyn Carlton (Blair) of Murfreesboro, TN; her brother, Vernon Christian, her grandchildren, Neetta Kesler, Kristy Kesler, RJ Kesler, Aaron Carlton, Mathew Carlton and Rachel Carlton; 20 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and a very special caregiver, which is her great grandson as well, Timothy Helton.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Ranger Baptist Church with Pastor Zach Orton officiating. Burial will be in Ranger Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Ranger Baptist Church prior to the funeral service.
