Obituary for Donald Andre Baron

Donald Andre Baron, 90, of Jupiter. FL and Hayesville, NC passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025.

Andre was born to Roger Marcel and Georgette Baron on February 20, 1935. His parents originated in France and moved to the United States in 1928. Andre was born in White Plains, NY. At age 1, he moved to Palm Beach, FL, where he lived his entire life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Roger Baron; a sister, Suzanne Stanley; and a great granddaughter, Kalyn Claypoole.

Andre is survived by his wife, Carol Gibby Baron who was the Love of his life. They were married in 1969, a marriage which lasted 56 years; a daughter, Jacqueline Ombres of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; two sons, Andre Baron (Monica) of Young Harris, GA and Marcel Baron of Jupiter, FL; grandchildren, Roger Maxwell Baron, Charles Winston Baron, Louis John Ombres, Michael Jason Ombres, Nicole Marie Bashwiner, Ashley Monique Bashwiner, and Kaylyn Daniel Ombres; great grandchildren; Louis John Ombres, Jayde Sky Ombres, Joshua Matthew Patten and Julia Marie Patten; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; nephew blood relative, James Stanley; other nieces and nephews by marriage; James Kilpatrick, Jeanne Kilpatrick, Lisa Guyaux, Andrea Gibby, Marty Gibby, Michelle McElhannon, Amy Rosser, Tiffany Setzer, Jamie Gibby Pollok, and Ailena Parramore; cousins in France who were very special to him.

Andre had attended Palm Beach Primary School and was a honor graduate of Admiral Farragret Academy in Saint Petersburg, FL. He also attended Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. Andre had served in the United States Army stateside in Fort Lee, VA. He and his wife owned Barons Landing in Jupiter, FL in 1970. Andre retired from Riveria Beach Utility Billing as a Finance Director in 1992. He loved most spending time with his family in the mountains at their cabin on Compass Creek in Hayesville, NC, and boating in Lake Chatuge.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 20, 2025 in the Townson-Rose Chapel in Hayesville with Bob Gibby speaking and Pastor Danny Burch officiating. Burial will be in the Hayesville Baptist/Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andre Baron, Marcel Baron, James Stanley, Keith Gibby, Marty Gibby, and Max Baron.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Hayesville prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made In Loving Memory of Andre Baron to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
