Boyd Dexter Luther, age 68 breathed his last earthly breathe and started his eternal life with Jesus.
Boyd was the son of the late Garland Luther and Marilyn Trull Chambers. He loved gardening and took great pride in keeping it weed free and sharing the harvest with others. He was known as Mr. Fix-it. He could literally build anything or fix anything. Boyd was very proud to be a graduate of North Carolina State University and taught at Murphy High School for 37 years as the Agriculture Teacher.
Boyd was a member of Vengeance Creek Baptist Church and had served as a deacon there for many years. He loved the Lord and expressed it through his servanthood to others. He was a man that lived out what he believed in his service to others. Boyd was a wonderful Dad and Grandfather. He would literally spend hours on the internet looking for Christmas Gifts for "The Little People" as he affectionately referred to them.
Boyd was preceded in death by an infant sister, Bonita Luther; brother Bobby Luther and his Father, Garland Luther.
He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Trull Chambers and her husband Rogers; wife, Lisa McClure Luther; his two sons, Lucas and wife Heather and Bryan and wife Brittany; his beloved grandchildren Brady, Bella, and Briggs.
