Obituary for Henry Wade Wilson

Henry Wade Wilson, age 79 of Brasstown, NC, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025.

He was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late Rev. Wade Earl and Edna Marie Elliott Wilson. Henry was a US Army veteran; he served during the Vietnam War. He retired as the assistant county ranger for the North Carolina Forest Service. Henry enjoyed hunting, golfing, gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved making and playing music. He was a member of Maggie's Chapel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Wilson and Ray Wilson.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sue Ware Wilson; two sons, Brian Wilson and Darren Wilson (Ami) all of Brasstown, NC; one daughter, Kimberly Jones (Derek) of Hayesville, NC; one sister, Carrie Burke (Jerry) of Clyde, NC; grandchildren, Christian Byars, Dallas Wilson, Chad "CJ" Carter and Amy Wilhite; and two sisters in law, Louzine Wilson and Darlene Wilson.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Tony Ware will officiate. Burial will be in the New Martins Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #96, Murphy, American Legion Post 532 Hayesville, VFW Post 6812, Hayesville and the Marine Corp League, Marble. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Wilson, Allen Wilson, Steve Wilson, Paul Wilson, special great nephews, Andrew Chastain and Daniel Wilson, Derek Jones and Derek Penland. Honorary pallbearers will be John Mason III, Ben Wilson, Mark Wilson, Joe Adams, Sunny (Tubby) Roberson and Bill Ledford.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm, Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
