Obituary for Ramona Rose Farmer

Ramona Rose Farmer, 85, of Murphy passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025. She was the daughter of the late William Patton and Elsie Whitener Rose.

She had worked in Forest Service. Ramona loved gardening, spending time with her family and friends, going to Cade's Cove to see the wildlife, enjoyed being outdoors, and canning. She had been a member of Mount Nebo Baptist Church since 1964.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Harold Farmer; and sisters, Donna Davis, and Betty Lou Brendle.

She is survived by her son John Farmer; grandchildren, Candance Whitener (Jacob) and John Winston Farmer, III (Ashley); great grandchildren, James Whitener, Lily Whitener, Dakodah Farmer, Greyson Farmer, and Dean Farmer; honorary great grandchildren, Declan Schutte, Lexie Aalbertsberg, and Kenzie Miner, who she considered also as her great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, September 6, 2025 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel, Murphy with Rev. Jerry Kilpatrick officiating. Burial will be in the Pat Rose Cemetery, Murphy. Pallbearers will be Ashton Raxter, Jacob Whitener, John Farmer, III, Clayton O'Donavan, Ryan Farmer, Tyler Thompson. Mitchell Davis will serve as honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm-3:00 pm Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home prior to the services.
