Obituary for Jonnie Lee Hyde Mull

Jonnie "Shorty" Lee Hyde Mull, age 92 of Murphy, NC passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

She was born in Duluth, GA to the late Dennis and Bell Rich Hyde. Jonnie liked to read, mow grass, and thrift store shopping. She enjoyed going to church and was a founding member of Sunny Point Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Moody Mull; infant twin sons; infant daughter; daughter-in-law, Debby Mull; one brother, Quenton and two sisters, Nettie and Bertie Lou.

She is survived by two sons, Mark and Mike Mull both of Murphy; one daughter, Brenda Mull of Murphy; one sister, Betty Newman; grandchildren, Kristy Nelson, Payden Mull, Matthew Evans (Candace), and Courtney Lanphere (Andrew); and one special great granddaughter, Isabella.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Sunny Point Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin Murphy and Rev. Ronnie Dilbeck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Loren Dockery, John Cavender, Lawrence Webster, James Johnson, Victor Benn and Jerry Raper. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Smith, Gene Campbell, Andrew Lanphere and David Stiles.

The family will receive friends from 2 pm - 3 pm, Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Sunny Point Baptist Church.
