Lewis Preston "LP" Stallings III, 69, passed away suddenly on October 25, 2025, while enjoying a day on his boat on Lake Chatuge in Hayesville, North Carolina, a place that brought him immense joy in his retirement.
Raised in Sarasota, Florida, LP built a life defined by his unwavering commitment to his family, laughter, and loyalty. He worked hard to provide for those he loved and was always there when he was needed; all anyone ever had to do was ask. Everyone knew LP as a good man, the kind of man with a genuine heart who treated others with respect and kindness. He loved to have a good time, to laugh, and to make others feel welcome wherever he went.
He retired as Pari-Mutuel Regional Manager (SES) with the State of Florida, where he served with dedication and integrity for many years before fulfilling his lifelong dream of retiring to the mountains of North Carolina. There, he spent his days surrounded by the beauty of the lake, fishing, joyriding, enjoying FSU football, and serving on his community's HOA board.
LP was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his wife, Crystal Stallings; daughters, Christine Stallings and Meghan Stallings Cooksey (Charlie); granddaughter, Ryanne Elizabeth, with whom he shared a lifelong bond; and grandson, Thomas Preston, proudly named in his honor. He is also survived by his six beloved siblings, along with nieces and nephews who shared his sense of humor and love of family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Preston Stallings Jr. and Barbara Stallings.
LP will be remembered for his kind heart, his humor, and his ability to make everyone feel like a friend. His infectious smile and laughter could light up any room, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He lived life his way, with love as his compass and laughter as his legacy.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in Sarasota, Florida. All are welcome to come, share stories, and celebrate the good times LP loved so much. For location details, please call or text Debbie Stallings (720) 982-5071.
