Eldon Larry Rogers, age 87 of Marble, NC passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020.
He was born in Cherokee County, NC to the late Albert “A.C.” and Nora Worley Rogers. Eldon was a tunnel driller. He was kindhearted and generous. Eldon traveled throughout the U.S. for work and adventure. His interests and hobbies included western movies, motorcycles, stockcar racing, gem hunting, wood working and knitting. Eldon was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Charlie, Clarence, James and Bud Rogers; and a granddaughter Cassandra Smith.
Eldon is survived by his son Todd Rogers; daughter Pondarosa Cutshaw and husband Eric; sisters, Monda Prince and Sadie Debty; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, December 20, 2020 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Reverend Randal Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Rowland Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon DeHart, Richard Lunsford, Johnny Debty, Walter Debty, Robert Debty, William Debty, William Phillips and Dustin Phillips.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm – 2 pm, Sunday, December 20, 2020 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
