Ellen Teresa Chastain, age 68 of Hayesville, NC passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
She was born in Murphy, NC to the late John and Ethel Shelton Smart. Ellen worked as a LPN-CNA for home health care. She enjoyed her grandchildren and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her brother, Rex Smart.
She is survived by a son, Casey Chastain; a daughter, Nicole Blair (Bobby); a sister, Marsha Lockard (Deleware); two grandsons, Johnathan Burns and Ismail Munshi, a grand daughter, Aalia Munshi; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and very close friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Ledford Chapel in Hayesville with Rev. Jackie Sellers officiating. Burial will be at Ledford Chapel Cemetery in Hayesville. Pallbearers will be Ben Bracken, Brett Bracken, Casey Bracken, Bobby Blair, Casey Chastain, and Haven Stiles.
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Ledford Chapel in Hayesville.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Ledford Chapel Cemetery fund, c/o Betty Ashe, 285 WJ Cabe Rd, Hayesville, NC 28904.
