Hugh Frank Forbes, Jr., age 88, of Andrews, NC passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024.
Hugh was born in Gastonia, NC to the late Hugh Frank Forbes, Sr. and Maudie Postell Forbes. He was a US Navy veteran. Hugh retired from Stanley Furniture. He was an outdoorsman. Hugh loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Hubert Franklin Forbes; one brother, Darrell Forbes and two brother-in-laws, Harry Hawk and Oscar Brewer.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Janice Ann Truett Forbes; three sons, Mark Forbes (Cynthia) of Robbinsville, NC, Bryan Forbes and Kevin Forbes both of Andrews, NC; one brother, Dewey Forbes (Phyllis) of Murphy, NC; two sisters, Levine Hawk and Betty Brewer; and two grandsons, Hugh Forbes, III. and Dave Williams.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm, Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. Rev. William Wayne Adams will officiate. Music will be provided by Dorothy Wilson and Sonny Reighard. Burial will be in the Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry and Brian Flowers, Wallace Sharp, John Day, Dave Williams, and Hugh Forbes, III.
The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 1 pm, Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
