James “Eddie” Edward Worley, age 86 of Hayesville, NC passed away Saturday, October 13, 2024.
He was born on November 16, 1937, and was one of eleven children of the late Garland Worley and Effie Swanson Worley. Eddie enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the VFW Post 6812. James was an amazing husband, father, papaw and great grandfather. He never met a stranger and was loved by anyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brent Edward Worley; a grandson Jaime Ian Worley; and several brothers and a sister.
In addition to his loving wife of 43 years Claudia Hooper Worley, he is survived by three daughters, Shannon Worley Satterfield and husband Jason, Alyson Pressley Shipman and husband Tim, and Jill Pressley Stamey and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Jacie Satterfield, Chelsey Martin, Rachelle Worley Creel (Michelle), Jackson Shipman, and Jala Stamey; and great grandchildren; Rylee Colbert-Carr, and Rashaad Colbert-Carr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brent Worley Scholarship fund at United Community Bank.
