DUE TO INCLIMENT WEATHER FOR THE WEEKEND OF JANUARY 11TH, THE VISITATION AND FUNERAL SERVICE FOR DONNA CLORE HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY, JANUARY 19TH.
Donna Jean Dockery Clore, age 90 of the Ebenezer community of Hanging Dog passed away peacefully at her home, Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Born in Murphy, NC, she was one of eight children born to Ernest and Edna Dockery. She was married to her husband, Billy Clore, for 52 years. They had six children, eleven grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.
Donna was a wonderful caring wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother! She loved gardening, cooking and trying out new recipes, blackberry pickin, and treasure hunting at flea markets. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Donna was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Payne; son, Richard Clore; and son in law, Tony Bailey.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Looney (Ted) of Clayton, GA; son, Stan Clore (Tracy) of Elkton, MD; son, Ron Clore (Shirley) of Elkton, MD; and daughter, Marsha Bailey of Elkton, MD.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm, Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Rev. Kenneth Dockery will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 3 pm, Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1604 Ebenezer Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
