Glen Henry Beaver, Jr. age 72, of Murphy, NC passed away Monday, June 26, 2017.
He was a native of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late Glen Henry Beaver Sr. and Reba Maney Beaver. Glen had retired from the US Forest Service after 36 years of service, with his most recent job being the seed orchard manager. He was also a member of the Murphy Jaycees and the founding member of the Cherokee County Rescue Squad. Glen served in the US National Guard. He worked as a volunteer for the River Walk project. Glen enjoyed fishing and gardening. He loved his grandkids, hunting arrowheads, doing for others and delivering treats to all his friends. Glen was a member of the Vengeance Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Bret Beaver.
He is survived by his son, Keven Beaver and wife Brandi of Murphy; two daughters, Kevennie Westmoreland and husband Larry of Murphy and Kathy Junkin of Courtice Canada; grandchildren, Ethan Westmoreland, August Westmoreland, Bailey Beaver and Dale Junkin.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Valley River Humane Society, PO Box 658, Murphy, NC 28906.
