Obituary for George Henry Allison

George Henry Allison, age 75 of Marble, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at his home.

George was a native of Cherokee County, NC. He was a son of the late Ben and Marie Gladson Allison. George was an US Marine veteran; he served during the Vietnam War and had worked for MGM Brakes for 45 years. He loved his family, hunting, fishing and gardening. George was an active member of Tomotla Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Allison.

George is survived by his wife of 51 years, Juanita Allison; sons, Shane Allison and wife Kristie and Adam Allison; granddaughters, Lexie Powell and husband Adam, Maggie and Madilyn Allison; brothers, James, Kenneth and Tom Allison; sisters, Betty Whitener, Lois Menasion, Helen Bzotte and Sue Ledford; special niece, Leoia "Sissie" Penland and several other nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 7 pm, Monday, July 6, 2020 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Pastors Harold Stiles and Zackary Orton will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted by the Veterans Organizations: V.F.W. Post #10222, Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post #96 and D.A.V. Chapter #73 and American Legion Post #532 of Hayesville and V.F.W. Post #6812 Hayesville.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm - 7 pm, Monday, July 6, 2020 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
