James Matthew Rowland, age 49, entered into eternal life on Sunday, September 27, 2020 in Gainesville, GA after an unexpected illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC. James was self-employed. He loved fishing, hunting and camping. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, T. Mathie and Cynthia Lavusta Rowland; maternal grandparents, Frances Rowland and James Garrett.
James is survived by his wife, Donna and daughter Cynthia Rowland; three grandchildren, Triston, Riley and Harley; his parents, Alvin and Carolyn Rowland; one sister, Donna Campbell; one brother, Jeffery Rowland; and many other relatives also survive.
Family will receive friends from 6 pm - 8 pm, Friday, October 2, 2020 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy. Rev. Tommy Messer will be officiating. Interment will be at the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiwassee Dam. Pallbearers will be Jeff Rowland, Matthew Danielson, Josh Danielson, Dalton Danielson, Robert Pirkle and Joey Stancel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the family for funeral expenses.
