Jennifer Williams Gibson, of Hayesville, NC, loving wife, mother, and teacher, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at North Georgia Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Born in Laurinburg, NC, Jennifer was the daughter of Robert Williams and Sue Williams. She graduated from Richmond Senior High School in Rockingham, NC. and
earned her bachelor's degree from Meredith College, her masters from Duquesne University, and completed her doctoral coursework at Boston University.
Jennifer was the band director at Hayesville Middle and High School, where she dearly loved her students and colleagues. She had a precious gift of loving and teaching young people, and helping them realize their potential not only in music, but in life as well. She served in the leadership of several music education professional organizations in the region, and served on the board for Communities for Students for Clay County.
She loved spending time with her family, loving on her daughters, and enjoyed quilting and sewing. Jennifer was a member of First Baptist Church Blairsville, GA, where she was very active with the children and youth ministries and Vacation Bible School.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, Andy Gibson, and twin daughters Ann and Grace Gibson, of Hayesville, her father, Robert Williams, of Rockingham NC, her mother, Sue Williams, of North Charleston, and her sister, Kimberly Menken and husband Josh, of North Charleston. She is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services for Jennifer will be held Saturday, September 18, at First Baptist Church Blairsville, GA, at 3:00pm, with visitation from 1:00pm -2:30pm. Burial will be at Oak Forest Cemetery in Hayesville, NC, at a later date. Dr. Fred Lodge and Rev. Derrick Hartley will officiate. Graveside service will be led by Rev. Keith Nuckolls.
