Glenda Curtis Shields, age 75 of Murphy went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 18 2022.
She was born in Murphy, NC on November 24, 1946 to the late Paul Curtis and Dorothy Curtis Moss. Glenda was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Murphy, NC. Her favorite past time included reading, crocheting, sewing, and spending time with her family.
Glenda was preceded in death by her brother Robert “Ronnie” Curtis.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gene Edward Shields, two sisters; Frances “Fran” Curtis King and Sylvia Curtis and husband Carroll Weaver; one daughter, Sandra Silvers and husband Michael; one son, Gregory Shields and wife Lisa, four grandchildren; Tyler Shields, Dylan Shields, Maria (Ray) Stiles and Amy Trull; two step-grandchildren, Megan (Lee) Galloway and Drew Silvers; nine great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 7 pm, Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Pastor Steve Ware will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm, Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at a later date with Pastor Carroll Weaver officiating.
