Lawrence Beal, age 80 of Hayesville, passed away November 11, 2023. Lawrence was born February 10, 1943, in Cherokee County to the late Charlie and Hazel (McMahan) Beal. He was passionate training people and horses for mounted police search and rescue, and he was a loving father to his children.
Lawrence was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Beal and Doug Beal, and two sisters, Betty Logan and Ollie Lariscy.
He is survived by his sons, Nik Beal, of Cornelia, GA, Ken Beal (Lee) of Murphy, Flip Beal (Tara Maye), of Travelers Rest, SC; their mother, Frankie Eckard Beal; sisters, Frankie Roberson (Bobby) and Margaret Scaglione, both of Murphy; grandchildren, Adam Beal, Reid Beal, Slate Beal, Ridge Beal, Logan Maye, Corbin Maye; many nieces and nephews, partner, Paula Palmer, of Hayesville.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 17 at 3:00 in Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Aud Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service. He will be buried in the Family (BEAL) Cemetery.
