Obituary for Daniel Keith Madison

04/13/1969 - 11/20/2023

Daniel Keith Madison (Dan), a symbol of free spirit, resilience, selflessness, and kindness passed away on November 20, 2023. Born on April 13, 1969, in Copper Hill, Tennessee. His life's journey was a testament to his incredible strength and unwavering love for his family. His final days, surrounded by family and loved ones, brought to a close a life marked by profound strength and compassion.

Dan’s life story, from the rural landscapes of Murphy, North Carolina to the bustling cities of Flint, Michigan, Jacksonville, Florida and Chicago, Illinois, is a narrative of love, sacrifice, and enduring strength. He leaves behind many loved ones and friends, to include his mother – Birdie Baine Hart, Aunts – Marilyn Hughes, Patricia Price, and Jo Weeks and his grandparents Mr. And Mrs. Jason Baine, who will forever cherish his memory, sense of humor and the friendship they shared.

Dan graduated from Southwest High School in Flint, Michigan where he excelled, and received a grant for his artistic ability to attend the Motts Foundation School for the Gifted. He received an honorary discharge from the U.S. Navy and later received his Associates Degree in Computer Science at Tallahassee Community College. He enjoyed digital art, sketching and his intellectual prowess was notable as he enjoyed nothing better than a good debate on any subject, most especially politics and religion.

He enjoyed sports, played baseball and enjoyed coaching a Little League Baseball Team in Flint.

Dan’s life may not have been marked by worldly accolades, but it was rich in friendships and familial love. During his last year, Dan found joy in the everyday miracles, the laughter of his family, and the quiet moments of reflection.

As we remember Daniel Keith, we celebrate a life that was an extraordinary blend of simplicity and depth, hardship and love, intellect and emotion. His unwavering commitment to his mother’s well-being fills the chapters of a life story that is inspiring. Dan is no longer in pain or suffering. Loved ones should take comfort in the knowledge that he is now resting in peace.
