Glenda Kaye Haney Dyer, age 80 of Murphy, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024 following a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Lee Dyer; parents, Clyde Robert and Emma Greene Haney; brother, Harry Haney; sisters, Bobbie Haney and Joyce Pierson.
Surviving is a son, John Warren Dyer; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Dyer; grandson, Zachary Dyer; sisters, Doris Grady, Janice Haney, Barbara Haney and Sharon Thomas.
A native of Cherokee County, she graduated from Hiwassee Dam High School. She began her career at Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta, GA. After marriage, she moved to Dalton, GA and lived there for several years. In 1980 the family moved back to Murphy and Kaye began working for Cherokee County School System, from which she retired.
Kaye was a kind, happy and fun loving individual who lived her life to the fullest. Most important to her were her two children and grandson whom she adored.
She loved people and the art of conversation and spoke with most everyone she met. She stayed in touch with friends and family. Kaye always had a telephone in her hand.
She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and participated in many church events. She was member of Eastern Star Martha Chapter.

A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Monday, March 25, 2024, 2:00 pm at Greenlawn Cemetery with Calvin Murphy officiating.
