Obituary for Bobby “BJ” Justin Kitchens

Bobby “BJ” Justin Kitchens, age 42 of Hayesville, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024.

BJ was born in Cherokee County to Bobby Kitchens and the late Jane Swain Kitchens. He enjoyed working, Harley motorcycles, Peterbuilt trucks, operating heavy equipment and playing basketball. BJ also enjoyed spending time with his kids and family. He was a member of Saved By Grace Church.

BJ is survived by his loving wife, Lauren Smith Kitchens; step mother, Betty Kitchens; his children Rylee Kitchens, Brenlee Kitchens, Cruz Kitchens and Bentlee Kitchens; his stepchildren, Chase Robinson, Caden Robinson and Lexie Robinson; his half brother, Jeff Garrett; his sisters, Sharon Furby (Chris), Sonya Rhodes (Byron) and step sisters, Marsha Woodward and Monica Winkler; and a step grandchild, Nova Robinson; along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Catalyst Church in Hayesville with Pastor Shannon Burrell and Pastor Brandon Matheson officiating. Music will be conducted by Brandon Coker and Rylee Kitchens. Burial will be at Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Garrett, Jeff Bradley, Little Rick Arrowood, Brandon Coker, Chris Furby and Zek Furby. Honorary pallbearers will be Cruz Kitchens, Chase Robinson and Caden Robinson.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Catalyst Church in Hayesville prior to the funeral service.
