Shirley Ann Green, 86, of Brasstown passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Eula Johnson Huskins. Shirley and her husband, Carl owned a store which was a landmark in Brasstown for over 20 years. She had quite the green thumb and enjoyed working in her flower gardens, but she especially loved her daylillies. Her precious dogs, Bailey and Tucker were like her babies and she enjoyed pampering them. She was a member of Little Brasstown Baptist church and attended the services and the senior luncheons regularly. She loved playing bingo. Shirley also attended G.L.O.W. where she always brought a smile and an encouraging word to the other widows.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John "Carl" Green and two brothers, Terry Huskins and Clyde Huskins.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Smith, and husband Richard; brothers, Lawrence Huskins, Herman Huskins, Cline Huskins and Steve Huskins; sisters, Betty Jones, Donna Huskins, and Hettie Googe; grandchildren, Brad Smith and wife Abby, Amanda Smith, and Christina and husband Scott Volling; great grandchildren, Sophia Smith, Lucas Smith, Stella Smith, Ellary Smith, Lincoln Volling, and Easton Volling.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM, Monday, January 6, 2025 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Hickory Stand United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Huskins, Kevin Huskins, Brad Huskins, Jordan Raxter, Matt Ballew, and Tim Kellogg.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Monday, January 6, 2025 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
