While surrounded by his loving family, Crede "Louis" Reid Jr., age 74 of Murphy, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025.
Born on July 26,1950, Louis was a graduate of Hiwassee Dam High School and retired from Moog Components in 2006 after 37 years. Louis attended Bell Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, working outside, and classic cars. He was an avid Tennessee Volunteer football fan but more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his four granddaughters.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Crede Louis Reid, Sr. and Mamie Floyd Reid; brothers Jack and Clyde Reid and sister, Nancy Henderson.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy; two sons, Brian (Melissa) and Erik (Stephanie) all of Murphy; four granddaughters, Emily (Tim), Rachel, Ali and Natalie; one brother, Bill Reid of Benton, TN as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4th from 6 pm-8 pm at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held at The Church of God on Highway 294 on Sunday, January 5th at 2:00 pm. His close friends, Rev. Lawrence English and Rev. Calvin Murphy will officiate. Burial will be at Reid's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Anderson, Adam Reid, Chris Reid, Joey Reid, Ronnie Williamson, Hunter Williamson, and Hayden Williamson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rodney Morrow, David Thompson, and Dwayne Anders.
