Jackie "JR" Raymond Carroll, age 64 of Murphy, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2024.
JR was born in Cherokee County to the late Raymond Henry and Suzie Mashburn Carroll. He worked in automotive sales. JR enjoyed anything to do with football, especially his favorite teams, Murphy High School and the Georgia Bulldogs. He announced the high school football games for 30 years. JR would give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed it. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and his best friend Smokey.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Moss.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Cole Carroll; his sons, Raymond Carroll and DJ Carroll; a daughter, Jena Carroll; his adopted children, Justice, Devonte and Adam; his sister, Pat Swanson; and his grandchildren, Haizley Hill and Kimberlynn Hill.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Murphy High School gymnasium with Payton McCraken officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Sunday, January 19, 2025 prior to the funeral service.
