William Ervin Ledford, age 91 of Kings Mountain, NC, formerly of Murphy went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
Bill was born January 17, 1934, in Murphy, NC to the late Alvin and Delmar Arp Ledford. Bill believed in working hard. He worked as a machinist until retirement at the age of 67. After retirement he began cattle farming full-time. Bill enjoyed working on his farm with his cattle.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Dewitt, Don, Alvin, and Johnny Ledford; six sisters, Mary Lou Walker, Flostine Davis, Cubalee Layton, Vivian Campbell, Vada Pinkerton, and infant sister, Willaray Ledford. He was also preceded in death by his nieces, Linda, Jessica, and Karen; and nephews, Gordon and Eric.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his four children, Darren Ledford (Brooke), Trent Ledford, Jade L. Wilkinson (Scott), and Jeremy Ledford (Carrie); three grandchildren, Danielle Ledford, John M. Ledford and Madison Ledford; and his great-granddaughter Navy Cox.
A funeral service will be held this Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:30 pm at Sunny Point Baptist Church in Murphy with Rev. Allen Harris officiating. A graveside service will be at the Ledford Cemetery located at Sunny Point Baptist Church in Murphy, Pallbearers will be Roger Campbell, Johnny Lee Ledford, Paul Ledford, Darren Ledford, David Payne and Darrel Allen.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Sunny Point Baptist Church prior to the service.
