Mary "Carlene" Phillips age 53 of Marble, NC passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025.
She was the daughter of Elaine Almond Swanson and the late Carl Thomas Swanson. Carlene was a native of Cherokee County and enjoyed puzzle books, talking on the phone with friends and relaxing in her home.
She is survived by one son, Jamie Nelson and wife Keana of Murphy; one daughter, Cassandra Marcus and husband Kurt of Murphy; one brother, Paul Thomas Swanson and wife Kathy of Leland, NC and four grandchildren, James Thomas Nelson II, Keanu Mathias Nelson, Katie Nelson and William Todd Marcus.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
No services are planned at this time.
Townson-Rose is in charge of all arrangements.
