Obituary for Donald Glen Hyatt

Mr. Donald Glen "Don" Hyatt, age 91 of Eastman, Georgia, died on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Dodge County Hospital.

Don was born in Akron, Ohio on January 7, 1934 to the late Gladys McNeill Hyatt and Walter Gilbert "Walt" Hyatt. He was a 1952 graduate of Douglas County High School and earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech in 1962. He spent his career as an engineer with Graybar Electric, Minneapolis Honeywell, and later for Western Electric, which later became AT&T. He lived in and around the Atlanta metro area for most of his adult life and was a father to three daughters. Don settled in Eastman, GA to enjoy his retirement years. While living in Eastman, he became a member of Lovely Grove Baptist Church. His various hobbies throughout the years included collectibles, tropical fish, cameras, telescopes, and calling square dances for many years.

He is survived by his daughters, Glenda Culpepper of Dacula, GA, Judy Bellack (Larry) of Gulfport, FL, and Becky Hoffman of Sandusky, OH; a sister, Jimmy Patrecia "Pat" Howell of Douglasville, GA; a brother, David Hyatt of Macon, GA; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Hyatt Family Cemetery in Culberson, NC with Rev. Aud Brown officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
