Ruth Marie Mayer, age 97 of Murphy, NC passed away Friday, June 7, 2024.
She was born in Germany to the late John and Hedy Plath. Ruth was a homemaker. She loved to read, going to church and loved helping other people in need. Ruth was kind to others. She enjoyed gardening. Ruth was a faithful prayer warrior. She was a member of Mountainview Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Marie Mayer.
She is survived by her son, James Hill; one daughter, Valerie Schemmer; one granddaughter, Melanie; one grandson, Mike; numerous grandchildren; and special friend, Mary Kay Reynolds.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Ray Noland speaking. Music will be provided by Tina Lundy. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm, Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
