Daniel Clifton Elliott passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 surrounded by family. He was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County and lived in the Ranger community. He spent his life from the age of 26 until his death at the age of 76 preaching the work of God. He pastored several churches in the area including Boiling Spring Baptist Church, Oak Grove Baptist Church, Grape Creek Baptist Church, Shady Grove Baptist Church, Mount Carmel Baptist Church and Refuge Baptist Church. He and wife Phoebe made many wonderful friendships and cherished every memory made in his ministry for the Lord Jesus Christ. His life's goal was to advance the Kingdom of God and to help everyone learn more about the Word of God. He loved to garden and his home is full of his handiwork. He will be greatly missed and always loved by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clifton and Kathleen Elliott of Murphy. Remaining and looking forward to a great reunion are his wife Phoebe Craig Elliott of the home, two sisters, Renee Caroll of Murphy, and Kathy Singleton of Murphy. Many nieces and nephews and wonderful cousins mostly from Murphy as well. He has four children, nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild, another expected in October.
His family includes, Greg Elliott and wife Dawn, and children Matthew Elliott and Emma Elliott, Stephanie Murphy and husband Phillip, and children Levi Murphy, wife LeeAnn and child Briar, and Michaela Starnes and husband Austin, Mark Elliott and wife Laura, and children Cole Elliott and Cooper Elliott, Brannon Elliott and wife Ann, and children Sydney Elliott, Lane Elliott and Dawson Elliott.
Funeral services are to be at Temple Baptist Church on Sunday March 6, 2022. Visitation for friends and family from 1:30-3:00 with funeral service at 3:00 and burial immediately following the service in the Temple Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Donald Padgett (pastor), Brother Allen Harris, and Brother Ricky Lance will officiate and Brother Allen Harris will be doing the music. Pallbearers will be Greg Elliott, Mark Elliott, Brannon Elliott, Phillip Murphy, Levi Murphy, and Lane Elliott.
