Ronald "Ron" R. Weppelman, age 95, of Hayesville, NC passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late William Weppelman and Anna Aschebremmer Weppelman. Ron graduated from Latrobe High School in 1948. After graduation, Ron entered in the Navy; he served 10 years. He then joined the Air Force and retired with 10 years of service. He worked in the computer industry as a production supervisor. He was an avid bowler at Blairsville Bowling Alley where he won many tournaments. Ron and Claire delivered meals on wheels to friends for over 23 years. He volunteered for 10 years at the Clay County Food Pantry. He was a charter member of the local American Legion Post #532 of Hayesville and a lifetime member of the VFW. Ron was an active member of the Hayesville First United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Richard, Charles, Robert, Joseph, and William Weppleman; Norma Jean Datti, Catherine Weppelman, Lillian Fry and Delores DeAngelo; and one stepson, Lyle Medlock.
He is survived by his wife, Claire Weatherby Weppelman; son, Robert Weppelman (Marie); grandchildren, Catti-Brie, Robert Wade, Faerun, Rhiann; and daughters, Linda Gail Weppelman and Pam Young; his stepchildren, Laura Medlock, Linda Caton (Gary), Lawrence Medlock (Tracy) and Lewis Medlock; grandchildren, Rachélle, Grace, Cheryl Ann, Jeffrey (Alyssa), John; and many great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm on March 29, 2025 at Hayesville First United Methodist Church.
