Ruby Kathleen Johnson, 91, of Murphy passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024. She was the daughter of the late William and Lola Mcrae Dockery. Ruby had worked for Levi Strauss and Company in the textile industry. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, taking care of her grandson, and her great grandchildren. Ruby was a member of Little Brasstown Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mont Johnson, Jr; son, Alan Dockery; brothers, AV Dockery, James Dockery, Andrew Dockery, and Robert Dockery; sisters, Mildred Dockery, Anna Mae Dockery, Mary Ruth Manard, and Nina Johnson.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Timothy Dockery, and Amanda Morrow and her husband, Jeremy; great grandchildren, Jordan Dockery, Charlene Dockery, Andrea Morrow, Scott Morrow, Brandon Morrow, and Charity Walsh.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 12, 2024 in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with Aud Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Murrin, Brian Wheeldon, Jordan Dockery, David Jennings, Austin Murrin, and Jeremy Morrow.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
