Obituary for Therese Mary Wyatt

11/24/1928 - 12/26/2024

Therese (Hall) Wyatt was born November 24, 1928 in Springfield, MA as the 1st daughter of Harry and Grace (Grimes) Hall and grew up in nearby Chicopee, MA alongside her sister Claire (Hall) Morris.

She is predeceased by her first husband, Richard Banks Knierim (1933 to 1957), of Nyack, NY with whom she had her only child, a daughter, Nancy (born December 1953).

She is predeceased by her 2nd husband, Thomas Scott Wyatt (1921 to 2003), of Somerville, MA with whom she lived in Garmisch-Partenkirchen Germany, Melbourne, FL and later Murphy, NC.

Therese returned to Massachusetts for some time to support her daughter Nancy as she fought cancer. She remained by her side as Nancy ultimately lost that battle in August of 2007.

She leaves behind her son in-law Davis Kinsman who returned the support his wife Nancy received by filling the void left by the loss of Therese's daughter. She also leaves behind her two grandsons: Kevin Kinsman of Wilbraham, MA, his wife Stacey and their children Kayleigh, Molly, Ryan and Delaney, as well as Michael Kinsman of Pleasant View, TN, his wife Valerie and their children Callie and Camden.

Therese was not one to pull a punch and spoke with a freedom we all strive for in our elder years. She could smoke and drink well above her weight class. She enjoyed the company of men in the military because she knew they could take orders. Therese was raised a devoted sports fan and supported any New England sports team through thick and thin with one or her most recent loves being Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots. This same dedicated love applied to her pets with the last being her two cats Sugar and Honey that held the same spots reserved for her grandchildren when separated by distance.

The shadow of her giant personality extended well beyond her sub 5-foot stature. For those that knew her - you know we lost a true firecracker of a woman, for those that didn't know her - your loss is the opportunity to have heard that laugh.

Visitation hours will be held on Sunday January 5th from 2-4 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy. A private burial will follow.
